Ils et elles contribuent à faire entendre ces voix en faisant la promotion de politiques publiques favorables à la santé lors des élections fédérales et provinciales, en diffusant des initiatives liées à l’arthrite sur les réseaux sociaux, en écrivant à des personnes élues et en les rencontrant, ainsi qu’en participant à des consultations gouvernementales et à d’autres actions importantes de défense de la cause.Engagement de temps • Environ 1 à 2 heures par mois • Rôle flexible, sans horaire fixe • L’engagement peut varier au cours de l’année selon les besoins des campagnes Principales responsabilités • Collaborer avec la Société de l’arthrite du Canada pour appuyer et amplifier des campagnes stratégiques liées à l’arthrite • Utiliser divers outils en ligne pour communiquer avec des personnes élues, des professionnel·le·s de la santé et le grand public • Participer à des événements publics afin de défendre les intérêts des personnes touchées par l’arthrite • Se joindre à des groupes locaux ou nationaux de patient·e·s pour soutenir les efforts de défense de la cause • Contribuer à des campagnes d’envoi de lettres, à des initiatives sur les réseaux sociaux et à des consultations gouvernementales Compétences et qualités recherchées • Motivation à améliorer la qualité de vie des personnes touchées par l’arthrite • Intérêt marqué pour les politiques publiques, la défense de la cause en santé ou l’engagement communautaire • Aisance avec le courriel et les plateformes de médias sociaux • Bonnes compétences en communication écrite et verbale • Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et à répondre à des initiatives sensibles aux échéanciers • Une expérience vécue avec l’arthrite ou un lien avec une personne touchée est considérée comme un atout Disponibilité et environnement de travail • Les rôles en défense de la cause sont offerts partout au Canada, aux niveaux local et national • Il s’agit principalement d’un rôle à distance, avec quelques possibilités de participation en personne • Les bénévoles peuvent s’impliquer de n’importe où au Canada, avec un accès fiable à Internet Personnes-ressources principales • Un ou une membre du personnel de la Société de l’arthrite du Canada assurera la supervision directe de ce rôle • Autres bénévoles en défense de la cause, personnes élues, professionnel·le·s de la santé et membres de la communauté Environnement de travail Ce poste est principalement à distance, avec certaines occasions de participation en personne. Les bénévoles peuvent contribuer à partir de tout endroit disposant d’un accès Internet. Online Peer Support Group Facilitator Position Overview As a Peer Support Group Facilitator, you, a person living with osteoarthritis arthritis, will have the opportunity to lead virtual support sessions for individuals living with or impacted by arthritis. This role supports the Arthritis Connections - Aide entrAide program, where participants come together to learn, share, and connect over the impacts of arthritis on their lives. Your primary responsibility will be to host virtual peer support groups, welcome participants, facilitate conversations, provide opportunities for group members to connect, and maintain a safe, open dialogue within the group. This role is an excellent fit for someone who is comfortable with technology, public speaking, facilitation, and has a personal connection to arthritis. Time Commitment Approximately 1–1.5 hours per session At least one session per month Commitment to at least 6 months of service This is a flexible role with no fixed schedule. Volunteer engagement may vary depending on the needs of the Arthritis Connections program. Key Areas of Responsibility Facilitate virtual peer support groups for individuals living with or impacted by arthritis Welcome participants and create an inclusive, comfortable space for discussion Guide group conversations and encourage participants to share their experiences Ensure a supportive and respectful environment that fosters open and safe dialogue Provide information, resources, and emotional support when appropriate Collaborate with Arthritis Society Canada staff to enhance the effectiveness of support sessions Desired Skills & Attributes This role is intended for individuals living with arthritis.Passionate about supporting individuals affected by arthritis Comfortable with technology, public speaking, and virtual facilitation Strong communication and listening skills Ability to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment Personal connection to arthritis or experience with arthritis is an asset Experience with group facilitation is an asset Availability & Working Environment This is a remote opportunity, with sessions conducted virtually Volunteers are required to complete online training before facilitating sessions Volunteers should have access to reliable internet and a quiet space to host virtual sessions Major Contacts An Arthritis Society Canada staff member will provide direct oversight for this role Fellow peer support group facilitators and program participants Working Environment This position is primarily virtual, with sessions held online.
