We strive to raise awareness of intergenerational connection and establish a custom of respecting and caring for seniors among younger generations. We will solve many senior-related social issues such as social isolation and the generation gap, if we get to the root of the problem. Encouraging the custom of youth engagement and respect for seniors is the solution. If we can instill these values in our youth, the issue of senior isolation will disappear. A committee elected by the residents of the community of Rushoon to operate and fundraise for the new community center within the community,  The community center was previously the RC parish hall but was purchased by the community via the Town of Rushoon Council.  It was initially built in the community as a high school in 1964 using some wood from the base in Argentia.  The community kept the building going under the parish of Christ the King until it went up for sale to pay for the actions of the RC archdiocese. This building has been used not only as a school, but church, concert venue, wedding venue, school graduation ceremony and funerals.  To this day the then "hall" now community center continues to be an inportant part of life in this small southern Newfoundland Community.
