A group of dog loving residents organizing to address the need for safe and secure area for dogs to run and play in Botwood, NL.  The dog park, once open to the public, will provide a safe area, dawn until dusk, for residents and their furry friends.

Everyone benefits, dog owners and the broader community will feel more secure with dogs being able to run and play in a fenced in area.

Disasters now endanger more Canadians and cause more devastation than ever before. Whenever they do, the Canadian Red Cross is prepared to help and ready to respond. As a volunteer in this role, you will: - Work with a small team of trained responders, you will support clients affected by smaller disaster events such as house fires; - This support will include assessing their short-term needs, providing access to immediate services such as shelter, food, clothing; - Your compassion and caring for those affected will help them focus on the next steps and recovery; - When not responding, you will help your team remain prepared and may get involved with community disaster preparedness initiatives that reduce the impact of disasters in your community; and - You are willing to assist people in need in your community and you are able to take periodic on-call shifts. You bring these essential talents: - Compassion and empathy; - Strong verbal communication and client relations skills; - Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment; and - Contributes to a healthy and safe working environment. All necessary training is provided.
