Youth Can Innovate NL (YCINL)

About the Organization

Youth Can Innovate NL (YCINL) is a youth-led nonprofit that gives young people across Newfoundland and Labrador a place to learn, create, and try new things. We believe opportunities should be accessible to everyone, which is why our programs are free for youth.
We offer six different hands-on workshops focused on areas like STEM, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, creativity, and community problem-solving. Instead of charging registration fees, we often ask participants to bring recyclable materials that can be reused in activities and projects. It keeps our workshops accessible while also encouraging young people to think creatively about sustainability and waste.
Our workshops aren't about sitting and listening to a presentation. Youth get to build things, work in teams, solve challenges, pitch ideas, experiment, and learn by actually doing. Most importantly, we want young people to feel that their ideas matter and that they don't have to wait until they're adults to make a difference.
Providing opportunities. Building brighter futures.

Rushoon Community Center Committee

Nonprofit
A committee elected by the residents of the community of Rushoon to operate and fundraise for the new community center within the community,  The community center was previously the RC parish hall but was purchased by the community via the Town of Rushoon Council.  It was initially built in the community as a high school in 1964 using some wood from the base in Argentia.  The community kept the building going under the parish of Christ the King until it went up for sale to pay for the actions of the RC archdiocese. This building has been used not only as a school, but church, concert venue, wedding venue, school graduation ceremony and funerals.  To this day the then "hall" now community center continues to be an inportant part of life in this small southern Newfoundland Community.

Our mission is simple: to empower individuals facing hardships by providing them with the essential items they require to overcome challenges, restore dignity, and improve their quality of life. Our innovative approach allows people who want to make a difference to contribute directly to fulfilling specific needs. We work closely with individuals who require assistance, guiding them through a process where they submit detailed invoices for essential items. This ensures transparency, accountability, and a targeted impact. Once approved, the funds are used by our dedicated team to purchase these items, guaranteeing that every donation makes a meaningful difference. With the support of caring donors, Newfoundland Helping Hands aims to become a beacon of hope, providing practical solutions and uplifting our community one family at a time.
