About Us

Burry Heights is an outdoor adventure camp surrounded by nature. At this weekly sleep-away camp (Sunday to Friday) campers will take part in a range of activities, such as arts and crafts, hiking, canoeing, archery, and swimming. Each day, campers participate in Reflections/Vespers (spiritual fellowship activities), small group activities (rotated on a schedule), full group/team-based activities, and a nightly campfire. Our mandate is to “enrich and develop the lives of youth through the camping experience”. As a United Church Camp, we have daily reflection sessions that allow campers to consider their own lifestyle, to learn more about good morals and how to be a kind and compassionate person. We are a “technology free” camp, meaning no campers are allowed to have personal technological devices (mp3 players, smartphones, video games, tablets, etc.) with them at camp. Paid counsellors at our organization are responsible for the 24-hour supervision of campers (aged 9-15), planning daily activity sessions, for both small and large groups of campers, as well as the basic upkeep of the building.
