The Heather Cutler Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people affected by pancreatic cancer. The Foundation works to address critical gaps in awareness, healthcare policy, and patient support related to pancreatic cancer. Our work focuses on education initiatives, policy research, patient advocacy, and community engagement to help drive meaningful change in the pancreatic cancer landscape in Canada. Through collaborations with healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and volunteers, the Foundation develops educational resources, supports public awareness efforts, and contributes to policy conversations aimed at improving outcomes for patients and families. Volunteers play an important role in supporting our initiatives. Opportunities may include research support, health education initiatives, communications and media work, data analysis, event support, and community outreach. The Foundation welcomes individuals who are passionate about contributing their skills and time to support pancreatic cancer awareness, research, and patient support initiatives.

Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC) is the largest charitable funder of vision research in Canada. Over our 50-year history, FBC has contributed critical funding for the development of sight-saving treatments and cures for blinding eye diseases. By raising and stewarding funds, FBC is helping drive forward research that supports our goal of understanding why vision loss occurs, how it can be slowed and how sight can be restored. We are an invaluable resource for individuals and families impacted by blindness, providing accurate eye health information through our website and educational events, as well as engaging with government and other stakeholders to advance better vision health policies.

Breast Cancer Canada is a national charity dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. With a focus on precision oncology (personalized care), it is the only national breast cancer organization in Canada that has a clear mandate to raise money for research and advocate and educate on the progress of new research evidence. Founded in 1918, the CNIB Foundation is a non-profit organization driven to change what it is to be blind today. We deliver innovative programs and powerful advocacy that empower people impacted by blindness to live their dreams and tear down barriers to inclusion. Our work as a blind foundation is powered by a network of volunteers, donors and partners from coast to coast to coast.

The Corner Brook Indian Band advocates recognition of the Band as a First Nation under the Indian Act. Equally important, the Corner Brook Indian Band advocates for all the rights and privileges confirmed to the Indians of the colony of Newfoundland by King George III in the Royal Proclamation of October 7, 1763.

The Youth Climate Court of Newfoundland & Labrador is a non-profit organization that calls for the accountability of city and county governments that are not adequately addressing the climate crisis. The YCC-NL is mainly comprised of young people whose rights are being most dramatically impacted by climate change.  The YCC will call the city or county government to court for failing to protect the basic human rights of their citizens with youth judges, youth prosecuting attorneys and youth jury members to put their local city or county government on trial for not living up to its human rights obligations. Youth leaders will then organize a trial and summon members of that government to attend and explain themselves in open Youth Court against charges that that government is failing to adequately protect the basic human and constitutional rights of its citizens, in face of the threats of climate change.

Chartered in 2001, the PMI Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter provides its members with professional development, resources, and networking opportunities.

A youth-led initiative bridging technology education and community support. At Tec Nurtur, we believe that education and community service shouldn't exist in separate silos. We're a youth-led initiative that combines technology education with meaningful community impact. Every workshop we host requires participants to contribute food donations, which we distribute to local food banks and families in need. This unique model ensures that as our students grow their technical skills, they're also growing their commitment to community service. Founded and run by young people who are passionate about both technology and community, we're proving that the next generation can create innovative solutions to real-world problems.

The CWGC is a global organization, caring for war graves at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries and territories. We commemorate almost 1.7 million individuals, ensuring that all the Commonwealth men and women who died during both world wars are commemorated in a manner befitting their sacrifice. In Canada, we have launched a National Volunteer Program and we are currently recruiting in Newfoundland & Labrador. The program enables those with an interest in our work to act as our eyes in their local area. Volunteers will visit their local cemeteries and gather information about the condition of CWGC war graves. Training will be provided on all aspects of the work required including how to safely clean war graves. Volunteers will play a vital role in helping us to achieve our mandate to maintain CWGC war graves in perpetuity. Your help will make a real difference to our work commemorating the service men and women who died during the First and Second World Wars and are buried in Newfoundland & Labrador. With your help we hope to keep alive the stories of the men and women whom we commemorate. Please note: For this volunteer position, you will need to have a smartphone with data and access to a vehicle.
