The Terry Fox Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to funding cancer research in honor of Terry Fox, who embarked on the Marathon of Hope in 1980 to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The foundation organizes the annual Terry Fox Run, a global event that has raised millions of dollars for innovative cancer research. Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. We are one of the top two health charity funders of Crohn’s and colitis research in the world, investing over $140 million in research since 1974, leading to important breakthroughs in genetics, gut microbes, inflammation and cell repair as well as laying the groundwork for new and better treatments. We are transforming the lives of people affected by Crohn’s and colitis (the two main forms of inflammatory bowel disease) through research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness

MS Canada provides services to people with multiple sclerosis and their families and funds research to find the cause and cure for this disease. We have a membership of over 7,000 and are the only national voluntary organization in Canada that supports both MS research and services. Since our founding in 1948, the core support of MS Canada has been from tens of thousands of dedicated individuals, companies and foundations in communities across Canada. MS Canada receives almost no funding from government. MS Canada is governed by a board of directors comprised of 14 volunteer members who are elected annually. Some 1,500 volunteers serve on MS Canada national, division and chapter boards and committees. An estimated 13,500 women and men are volunteers for service programs, fundraising events, public awareness campaigns and social action activities.

Parkinson Canada believes in a better life today for People Living with Parkinson’s, and a world without Parkinson’s tomorrow.  Canada has some of the world’s highest rates, and it is growing quickly.  People living with Parkinson’s are at the centre of everything we do at Parkinson Canada. We provide education and services, and we advocate with federal, provincial, and territorial governments on issues that matter to the Parkinson’s community in Canada. Our home combines the warmth of family-style living with professional care, creating an environment where seniors can feel truly at home. We are located in Twillingate a small community with a aging population.
